Athader installs a new Slitting Line in Mexico

An important service center in Mexico has installed a new Athader slitting line. This line, located at the Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, can process coils up to 40 tons, with thicknesses of 0.25 inches, widths of 62 inches, and materials with tensile strength of 110,000 psi, reaching speeds of 600 feet per minute.
The equipment features advanced automation, including:
- Double eccentric slitter head with automatic tool change system.
- Quick-change separators.
- Automatic packaging line with strapping.
The line has significantly improved efficiency, tolerances, and changeover times, enabling just-in-time order fulfillment and increasing reliability for customers in the automotive sector and other markets. Operators have praised the line for its reliability and ease of use, calling it “state-of-the-art” and noting that it has delivered on all promises.
