Nova Steel Inc. and Athader S.L. are pleased to announce the installation and commissioning of a Heavy Gauge Slitting Line from Athader, which is currently working at full production. The line installed in Nova Steel and Tube, LLC plant in Delta, OH, has the capability of slitting 0.500” x 74” x 80,000lb coils. The line features state-of-the-art automation, automatic coil loading, automatic slitter tooling change over and automatic separator changes that minimize production delays. Also, a driven flattener, double eccentric slitter heads for precise slit edge tolerances, and unique injecta scrap chopper system to minimize downtime for chopper knife changeovers. The line has side shifting separators and automatic separator changeover systems helps the operators reach the highest production levels. Offline banding featured allows the line to run the next coil while the exit banding is completed offline. The full safety system supplied by Athader is integrated into the slitting line operation and controls.
